Eating Out
Eating Out in France with Your Pet
There's no national rule either way — it's down to the restaurant, the terrace, and one phrase worth knowing.

- No national rule: each restaurant decides, same as Italy and Switzerland.
- Terraces are almost universally welcoming; indoor dining rooms are more variable — just ask.
- Ask: "Les chiens sont acceptés?" — and keep the dog on a short leash beside the table, not on a chair.
