At the simpler end — Airbnbs, agriturismi, smaller B&Bs — a one-time cleaning fee in the region of €10–30 is the most common charge, applied once per stay rather than per night. Nightly pet fees, which are standard in some other countries, are comparatively rare in Italy at this end of the market.
Higher-end hotels are the exception, and the range widens considerably: some charge nothing at all, while a handful of hotels with dedicated pet concierge programs charge fees running into the hundreds of euros for a stay, reflecting the extra service (dog beds, treats, walking arrangements) rather than a simple cleaning surcharge. The only reliable way to know which category a specific property falls into is to ask directly before booking — fee structure is almost never fully visible in the headline room rate.
